Start with the Hammersmith and Fulham council record

Hammersmith, Fulham and neighbouring streets can involve different site contexts. Check the exact borough record before combining a project with results across the river or in Kensington and Chelsea.

Published borough records come from the Planning London Datahub collection. The inventory displayed with this guide is a count of collected records, not current jobs or applications matching a specific trade.

Assess the project before adding a lead

For a conversion or extension, compare the proposed building and any flat or unit with the original plans. If EPC evidence exists for another unit, keep it separate. Proposed external alterations also need their own document review rather than an assumption based on a shared address.

  1. Search the council area or a local postcode.
  2. Open the source reference and check the site address.
  3. Read the proposal, documents and recorded planning stage.
  4. Compare any linked property evidence at the correct unit.
  5. Save a suitable project with its reference and a reason to follow up.

Understand collection dates and planning dates

The source collection timestamp describes when records were checked. Application and decision dates describe the planning activity. A recently collected record can describe an older proposal, so inspect both before treating it as new work.

Property evidence for a London project

England/Wales sale history, EPC records and HMLR land polygons can provide supporting context where there is a reliable identity match. A borough-wide dataset does not mean every application has a sale, certificate or polygon linked to its site. A company candidate is not proof of the owner or appointed contractor.

Read the property research guide for those distinctions. Planning proposals are starting points for research, not confirmed contracts or requests for quotations.

Research neighbouring boroughs separately

Use the London borough directory to choose other published council guides. The London neighbour search can include whole-council collections beyond the borough boundary; a separate borough search gives a clearer local starting point.
