Keep Salford separate from a Manchester search

Salford and Manchester are separate council selections in Work Signals. Use Salford to research the Salford collection, even if your business serves both areas. Save a second search for Manchester if you want to monitor both; one council selection does not cover the other.

Start with the free preview above. Members can narrow the council’s records by proposed work, keyword and activity date. If you install solar equipment, for example, try the energy category with individual solar-related keywords rather than assuming every energy record involves panels.

Check an older address when researching a site

Salford’s public-register guidance explains that applications use the address recorded at the time. Searching only the latest address may therefore miss part of a site’s history. The register also provides related appeals and property planning history.

If an application appears to concern a revised scheme, compare the reference and site details with earlier records. A renamed building or changed address should not automatically be counted as a separate prospect.

Use documents to understand the work package

Salford’s register places application documents in the Files section. Its advanced search supports validation-date ranges and wards. Use those tools to investigate a record you have found, rather than relying on a short proposal to establish the entire scope.

For a larger project, consider whether the work described matches your services or only forms one part of a wider development. The application alone does not identify an available subcontract, a purchasing decision or a start date.

Follow current activity without confusing it with the archive

The council inventory above combines the collected material shown in our coverage report. The free search has its own date and eligibility rules and returns no more than five previews. Members can save relevant searches and opt in to daily emails for new matching current applications.

Check each signal’s source and dates. Work Signals is independent of Salford City Council, and a published application is evidence to research rather than an exclusive or confirmed job lead.

Go from a preview to your own shortlist.

Pro is £50/month for one user, with full signal details, saved searches, private shortlists and optional daily alerts. Planning records are research starting points, not confirmed jobs or exclusive customer enquiries.
